Can a socket AM2 fully support a processor AM2+?

Ugh its been awhile but I think the answer is it depends on the motherboard. What motherboard do you have?

I can't tell you now because my computer is apart, but all i know is that my socket is AM2. 30 mins i can tell you what motherboard i have.

answer is yes, but new functions (hypertransport3) of am2+ cpu wont work on a am2 board. bios update is needed as well.
