First question you should ask.
Can my computer handle it?
TO let you know the graphics are good so make sure your comp can handle.
second?
DO i like WWII fell games or games like DODS, DOD, different keys and other things to get used to.
IF there is a yes in both of those then this is a good game for you, so is DODS and DOD, but COD2 has a good single player so far... only have played single player for about an hour, im a more multiplayer kinda guy.
If you like modern games, CS and CSS are great games and i have never regreted buying them, unlike HL2 and HL, still am looking for a reason to why i bought those. I really want to get COd4! but wondering if i want to fork over 50 bucks to get a game kinda like CSS but with probably better physics.

Dont buy CoD4 since CoD: World At War is coming in a couple months..
if you can get it for free and play it on cracked servers - its worth it but not worth paying.

I wouldn't buy CoD2/CoD4 in stores since you can just buy a CD Key online for CoD2 for around $10 and CoD4 for around $20. Then you just need to download CoD2/CoD4 from a torrent. Saves you money.

they're totally different games. WAW is set in World War II, 4 is set in the modern era. choose whichever era of combat you like more, or if you like both, get both.

You do realize that Call of Duty: World at War was made by the Group that Created Call of Duty 3... Did anyone really like that one? No, The group that created Call of Duty 1 + Expansions, Call of Duty 2, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Combat are not at all involved with Call of Duty: World at War, so expect it to much like Call of Duty 3, not very good at all.
just a little heads up for that, i would if you can get CoD4, its a good Multilayer game for about a month until it gets really really repetitive and annoying to play.
fuck WWII, i want a Vietnam game. Killing zipper heads is true fun.

CoD4 is worth buying if the price goes down. Otherwise, wait.
I got Qore from the Playstation Network and the Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer engine was the same one used in CoD4.
